Broadcast Support
FEBC broadcasts over 600 hours of radio programs every day, to more than 60 countries around the world.
Because we specialise in broadcasting in many languages, we seldom use syndicated programs in major languages.
Programs are prepared by indigenous speakers within the cultural
context of their own people. This involves research, music preparation
and studio time, and then the purchase of airtime on local stations, or
use of our own transmitter facilities.
Through all stages of the process, supporters, both prayer and financial, are vital.
Current Broadcast Support Projects
Vietnam
Programs to Vietnam began in 1952 and today the daily programs reach
people of all ages. The ministry provides on-air Bible training
programs. The Hmong Den language, spoken by the Black Hmong people of
the highland regions of Vietnam, has recently been added to FEB’s
broadcast schedule.
Broadcast Support Project: To increase the 15 minute broadcast for each dialect to 30 minutes. Each 15 minute program segment costs $45 to produce.
Russia
Raised in a culture burdened with demonic oppression, and now freed
by the love of God, our staff member, Irina hopes to share Christ’s
love through the Buryat language programs being aired through FEBC
Russian Ministries from Saipan. These people live in despair, entire
villages are dying out, and they need Christ more than ever.
Broadcast Support Project:
- $15 for a 15 minute program.
- $800 per month will support an FEBC Russian Ministries staff member.
- FEBC
Kazakhstan already broadcasts on the internet, using the Russian
Ministries website. Listeners are responding to the new broadcasts with
appreciation. $3000 will enable the Kazakh language website to be fully
developed and supported.
Life’s Answers for Thailand
This Life Still has an Answer half hour program airs daily in
Bangkok. Listeners’ problems are answered from a biblical viewpoint. It
includes popular and sacred songs, assists listeners to help other
disadvantaged listeners, and offers encouragement, prayer and advice on
health and Bible issues.
Broadcast Support Project: $854 per month for this program
A listener writes... ‘I have listened to
your programs and it has given me strength to face life. I have read
the booklet you sent me; I now have peace and contentment. My
neighbours and I are all listening. We feel that 30 minutes is too
short. The contents of this program can be used in our real daily life
and that’s why I have written today.’
