Reaching the Forgotten
Have you ever heard of the Zhuang? How about the Makassarese? The Uyghurs? If not, don’t be surprised; despite their population (ranging from 2 to 17 million), these isolated ethnic groups in Asia are virtually unknown.
But God knows them, and as we obediently seek to follow Jesus’ mandate in the Great Commission, we strive to know them too. We know they struggle with persecution and discrimination. They also struggle with poverty and illiteracy. But their biggest struggle is living without the knowledge of a Savior.
Making a difference through radio
That’s why FEBC developed programs for each of these people groups. We found Christian broadcasters who not only speak their language, but also know their culture. Every day the kind, gentle voices of our broadcasters give these people hope through Christ in the midst of difficulty and despair.
And we know the broadcasts are effective because listeners contact us. Day after day, they thank us for the programs that have changed their lives. A relationship develops with our follow-up teams committed to maintaining a connection. The results: phenomenal growth in listeners coming to the Lord amongst the 76 minority groups we broadcast to.
But many more have not been reached, with millions living in darkness, unaware a Savior awaits them. That’s why we can’t stop. So many people groups still need to hear the Good News…and still need the hope that only Christ can bring.
Expanding our Reach
God is creating new ways for us to reach even more people, by guiding our decision to move our Saipan transmitters to the Philippines. This move will make it possible to broadcast to some of the hardest to reach areas in the world.
Our goal: to introduce ten new ethnic broadcasts over the next five years. We’re so excited about this project, because we know God will use it to change lives, like this young man who recently wrote...
Dear FEBC: I have 6 brothers and we all became Christians by listening to your broadcasts. My family is so happy to be God’s children. I’m now a leader at our local church. Please pray that God will give me wisdom to lead His children to know Him more. Thank you for saving us from the darkness. We pray for you daily to send the Good News to millions of people around the world.--Listener in Southeast Asia
These are the lives that your prayers and support help us reach. Thank you for sharing our passion to proclaim the Good News to those without Christ.
