Is Anyone Listening
This was a letter that was sent recently by one of our partners
in ethnic minority broadcasting to encourage us all - for one of the hardest aspects of radio ministry is the feeling that we might be preaching day after day to the wall in the recording studio.
- Most of our people are quite isolated from the “outside world” and have little or no access to communication channels we take for granted (letters, phone calls, internet, etc). Add to that a pervasive fear and poverty that is hard for many of us to visualize. Thus, we get little tangible listener feedback and that can sometimes make us wonder if ANYONE is actually listening.
But then God encourages as news breaks through - and this news was great...
For God…. He knows when we need some encouragement in this area, and one of the ways we can get valuable listener feedback is by going to visit their areas.
We made a trip to ….... in September and what we heard brought tears to our eyes. One report from just one of our “PM” (portable missionary) Radio distributors was astounding.
In the past year, he witnessed 8 new believers receive baptism and 7 more to be baptized in the near future; each one a direct result of listening to our …. broadcasts! Hallelujah. Yes, people are not only listening, but thinking and coming to faith in Jesus.
We thank God for reaffirming again and again that the radio program is so worth the effort-and your generous investments-to stay the course and not lose hope.
