What programs do you choose to listen to on the radio? In Australia, there are dozens of choices on national and commercial radio with content and styles to suit people of many ages, languages, interests and tastes.
Our programs are designed to introduce and lead listeners to Christ, disciple and encourage them and train many for church leadership. Whenever possible, programming staff visit their potential listeners - to ensure cultural accuracy and that the programs will meet the current needs of the people.
Our FEBC programmers carefully consider what programs they invest time and preparation in to reach our audiences.
We need to be interesting, relevant and to speak to people, not only from many different language groups, but at many different stages in their lives. Here are just a few programs that are in production in the FEB world today...
-
Pakistan – Sheltering earthquake victims
Following a devastating earthquake, Feba Radio prepared the Shelter program for the victims, which were aired on local FM in the affected area. As rehabilitation and reconstruction continued, each month had a different focus. They began with health issues, and then followed with education.
-
Africa – stories for oral communicators
‘Storying’ has become a major part of our programming in the Horn of Africa, where we broadcast chronological Bible stories in three languages. Many of Feba’s listeners cannot read or write, for centuries communicating their history and traditions orally.
Storying recognises that oral communicators think differently from literate people, enjoying the drama and visual presentation of Bible characters and events. Praise God that listeners are remembering and passing on the stories and eagerly awaiting the next story or episode in the drama, all the while learning biblical truth.
-
Cambodia – gardening skills for feeding families
Development of a pilot gardening program is underway in an attempt to assist the needy. Food Always in the Home is aiming to teach families how to grow their own food and become self-sustaining.
-
China – equipping church leaders
FEB serves the church in China with programs designed to train leaders, and deepen believers in their walk with Jesus Christ, so they too will reach out to their own people. Dawn China programs and Voice of Friendship Seminary lessons assist Chinese believers to plant healthy churches.

Iran - website for young Iranians
After deliberating on the most effective way to deliver audio content to the youth of Iran, Far East Broadcasting has decided to launch the Iran Youth Program initiative by developing a website for their radio features. Please pray that links from other sites will steer people to the site and that visitors will develop a habit of coming back for more.

Afghanistan - Children’s stories
A partner supplying Dari language programs for Afghanistan is working on a children’s Bible story series involving a mother telling stories to her children.

Russia - Reaching Teens
Olga runs a radio program where she invites a couple of Christian kids and a couple of non-believers to talk about issues that interest them. She says, ‘We talk about love, relationships with friends and with their parents. Those are the main topics. But we talk about everything: school, friendship, drugs, health issues… everything. And our conversation inescapably touches spiritual issues.’
‘Many call during the program. Others send texts. Some come to the club and others show up at church, eventually giving their lives to Jesus. During a recent program we had two Christian boys and one non–believer. It was interesting to see their impact on him as they talked about praying for their goals. The unbelieving boy was so envious of their relationship with God. Listeners really responded to that program!’
